faux fruit doesn't deliver as much of a first listening experience for me, as most of these songs were released on spotify/soundcloud before; still, the fact that the songs here mesh well with each other is undeniable.
pomo mentioned this 'advanced bossa nova' album would be for fans of their debut album, and I feel they definitely delivered on that.
it's been a month since I registered, so I can finally add artists/albums. yippee!
anyway, this is a minimalistic yet sweet and melancholic acoustic album, in a similar vein to Ichiko Aoba (though admittedly much less ambient than Ichiko's works). it's a pleasant listen if you enjoy soft vocals and guitar instrumentals.
for a lot of people this album will not capture the same feeling as Ants From Up There, and that's totally fine; but personally, I like this direction even better and I'm very much looking forward to seeing the future of this band. a mesmerizingly consistent album from start to end
similar in structure to Dream materialise, with the same issue with the closing track. I feel the opener is better, but I like the songs less overall. not much else to say here; still a very fun album!
most of the album is very solid, but the arrangements of Seija's theme in particular (Uprising / Downfalling Ideology) are FANTASTIC. I've always liked this kind of blend between Rock/Pop on Touhou arrangements.
