Abigail Morris is genuinely a powerhouse vocalist with so much style, and I love how the band is unafraid to indulge in dramatics. Tamino really seems to have come into his own on this record, and like all of them it does take its time growing on you. It’s immediately beautiful, of course, but so reserved in its presentation that it definitely takes a couple listens to fully appreciate it. Madison is just so singularly good. I feel that every release from her has been an improvement and maturation of the last. The production and arrangement on this album is so stunning and rich, and a departure from previous sounds while still maintaining that bit of folk rock we know her for.
