This is such a goofy and kinda weird sounding album but I love it so freaking much. And I promise you it's not just because I already loved Steve Hackett before listening to it. Just like We Can't Dance this album is reviled for absolutely no reason. I seriously have no idea why people hate this so much. Is it because Phil isn't the one singing? You know that the band had 2 other members right? They were just as important for the band's success. This album has all of the same qualities that their other works do. The first thing people will tell you is that Genesis "fell off" and they lost their integrity when Peter Gabriel and Steve Hackett left, and I am here to definitively tell you that that is all BULLOCKS. We Can't Dance is an INCREDIBLE album when you stop believing the heinous lie that Phil Collins "ruined" Genesis by making them into a pop band (as if Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford weren't writing most of the songs right there with him).
