I heard this album maybe 3 times to get a rough idea of what I thought of it. And honestly? I don't know why people hate it. Sure, it doesn't have that "Gorillaz" sound, but it doesn't disqualify it from a bunch of really good songs (though some of them are genuinely the worst songs ever made by Gorillaz). Now, even though it has some really good tracks, it doesn't feel very cohesive to me. Just a collection of songs, not really an identity.

This is by no means a bad album, and honestly the first half has some really cool vibes. However, it suffers from really repetitive song structures (which isn't the big problem, just gets old after a bit), and some songs are just forgettable in my opinion.

Cracker Island is a very nice opener, and the synth work at the end of the track is fantastic. Oil was my favourite on first listen, and the way the song is structured just hits that sweet spot. It really should've been a single in ... read more

a very solid record looking at different perspectives on the people around us and life in general. i like the vocal work, the emotion put into each song, and there really isn't a weak song on here. "People" is my favourite, it just gives me a new look on the people around us going through their own situations

I can see why some people won't like this, but i don't care this is such an insane song for me
