The psychopathic serial killer character, the insane flows and weird accents make Relapse a disturbing and dark album.
I don't know why people hated the accents, I quite like it, it allowed him to bend words to create incredible rhyme schemes, like on "Stay Wide Awake", specifically the 2nd verse, as messed up as that track is, it's astonishing. Every single line rhymed with the next, while simultaneously narrating a horrifying murder with extreme detail. Nuts.
"Déjà vu" is my favorite off of the LP, great instrumental, vivid and amazing storytelling and, of course, amazing flows.
As chaotic as this album is, it's a masterpiece. A fucked up, misunderstood & exceptional masterpiece.
