i really enjoyed this album, i thought the vocals and lyrics were amazing and especially as a debut im extremely excited to see what comes next and see where midwest goes as an artist, this album was a wonderful listen and gave me a resemblance to drug bug, the lyrics on the album are very meaningful and i loved them a lot with the gritty guitar and calm then aggressive changes consistently, definitely my album of the year.
favorite tracks: goodmourning, fantasy, and whirligig
great album overall i love how depressing and honestly how much this album feels like its a way of expressing giving up. I think this album describes mental illness, addiction, and suicide perfectly while also throwing trauma into the mix. The anger in some of the music works well with the gloomy and overall feel of the album.
i think this album was a great start for steve lacy and i really like the funk and sound of this album as a whole and i love how steve lacy explores himself and love as a whole, great album to just sit back and enjoy the sound of it.
