This album is just kinda there... P!NK was an artist who I enjoyed growing up cause of her weird quirks in a similar vein to Lady Gaga but with a bit sillier and party than glam. Unfortunately this record makes me understand why I heard no one talk about her since her return in 2017, she's kind of a shell of her former self.
Trustfall opens with a song dedicated to her late father, a really touching if not a little cliche ballad that matches up with absolutely nothing else on the album. The transition between it and the title track was jarring and essentially told me not to expect much from the album.
At its best, the album is chasing trends in a way I'd rather listen to so many other artists like on Runaway or Turbulence, and at its worst it feels like a hollow version of herself on songs like Never Gonna Not Dance Again, or bringing on collaborators who sound like their on a whole different song to her, like First Aid Kit or Chris Stapleton's contributions. For real, there is no chemistry between her or either of those two, and The Lumineers is The Lumineers.
P!NK is clearly long past her prime and has fallen into the pit of "bland store radio filler" that is almost a death sentence for pop artists.
