Stomp n' holler, but spanish
Most of the songs are actually in English, but with an apparently tenuous grasp of the language. All crowd-pleasers that sound designed to be played in the corner of a bar (every song being about either a sad love story or alcohol, or both), the Gasoline music video presents this pretty well
Religious cornballatry notwithstanding (since it literally is just a collection of christian hymns, alongside the schizoid title track), a few of the at-best sampleable lofi instrumentals stood out as kind of interesting, like Brood O'er Us (#3).
"why does our government tell us they don't exist?"
shit calmed me down during a panic attack. actually felt my heartburn go away
Flawless masterpiece
It sounds like I'm being crushed so that I can't feel my thoughts anymore, reminds me a bit of temple grandin's hugging machine in that way
really wack but in an endearing way
also constantly unintentionally hilarious
practically every song fits this, but please listen to "IM REAL 93 RMX" as a perfect example of what I mean.
"Dat Man 94" is essentially comedy rap
Extremely bitter tasting, and then really nice effects at the end of songs like Defeating: Earths' Gravity.
the kind of music that plays low volume in a smoke filled room while you're working on shit at your desk
Really good shit, Smokers Paradise and World Series are killer
Absurdist lyrics, Absurdist story (the full plot of which comes in the bandcamp download, alongside all the lyrics), varying music.
Very homemade feel to it, the style is whatever beats/samples they could find. The beat and the samples they come from (when applicable) are incredibly creative, occasionally resulting in catchy songs. Lots of video game samples, which is also relevant to the "plot" of the album. The story the album allegedly follows flows as a series of non-sequiturs, ... read more
By detaching a video game soundtrack from the game, you lose a massive amount of context necessary to understand the soundtrack, how it's intended to be experienced in the medium it is meant to be presented in. However, I hate video games, and fun. I listened and reviewed this soundtrack solely in terms of its musical material, the "video game" aspect of the music merely informing an extramusical narrative that strings the tracks together. I basically treated the music like a ... read more
Wrote all my college essays to this on loop. Will change my score depending on if I get in
Edit: Masterpiece 90 ->93
Sounds like the soundtrack to one of those ipad games I played when I was 6 where you ran a village or some shit
just really pleasant to listen to, comfort music you don't really have to think too much about.
This sounds like a really boring party
or like MGMT if they considerably worse
Cool sample at the end, and I like the beat for the most part, but the adlibs during Drugz part sounds like he's retching. It feels it has the _potential_ to be a great song, more than anything, but is sabotaged in this version by a bunch of wack adlibs and awkward mixing at parts.
must hear for enjoyers of sounds. this song(s) is full o fthem - a real treat.
Masterpiece. Extremely good, with the only parts I dislike being some parts of pRETTy and drive ME crazy!.
Braindeath music - Every song sounds the same, and it gives huge living room vibes, and a dusty one in a trailer in the desert at that. The guitar is the best part of every song, and it is too muffled to be heard clearly most of the time when it should be the standout. They don't have any concept of volume, demonstrated in the first track and throughout.
should also mention that I got an intense brain fog after listening the whole thing for a while, which only cleared after I started ... read more
