Update: 55 -> 85
This album sure grow on me, what can I say.
OG Review: This album was such a chore to listen to. I feel like there were just no standout moments and as far as experimental goes it was too boring by that standard. All the tracks basically evolve into the same thing. As much as I was excited to listen to this as I’m a huge plunderphonics fan, it just doesn’t give back what I hoped it would.
I really think I can only remember a few tracks (one of them being ... read more

"Oh my god this is so boring I have to at least be close to finishi- THERES ANOTHER 7 SONGS?"
It's safe to say I didn't enjoy this project at all. I really REALLY dislike the vocals and the guitar licks can at times be charming, but most of the time the melodies sound basic and bland. The mixing is the most inconsistent thing ever. It really doesn't feel like an album and more like a compilation of demo songs that all happened to sound "neat" enough to make ... read more
This being his first project it seems so simple and that's because it sort of is. It highlights the simplicities of being a teenager, or living in a suburb, but also not being able to do too much with your life since you're a teenager. The instrumentation is mostly just guitar and maybe a few other chimes and synths but no drums. It makes the record feel very free, whimsy, and fun. Sort of like your listening to a backyard concert or just listening to a guitar around a campfire. Also ... read more
The Epitome of Abstract Art
(Before beginning: In the linked reviews, I talk about the fundamental elements that make Spalexma’s music so enduring, why its brilliant, the fundamentals of the music etc., which I feel will adequately convey information that I didn’t focus on in this review, I invite you to read them).
PART ONE: The Importance of Abstract Art
Music usually possesses some kind of decipherable meaning. After all, writing a song necessitates a concerted effort, a feeling ... read more
This album just hits you especially if your connection with your parents or more specifically your father isn’t the best. Honestly with my parents growing older I wonder when the last time that I’ll see them is so this album has got me contemplating on that. It does get a bit boring at times though but seriously some of the songs here really crush your soul.
Better than departure (only slightly)
A rather bland soundtrack that isn’t very special at all (Also I’m gonna start having to listen to more soundtracks, but this just does not cut it) I guess happy rabbits is alright but other than that I don’t think much on here is worth revisiting.
Killer sampling and pretty repayable. Some of the songs can get pretty boring but I think even the lowlights aren't that bad
Top 3 Songs:
1. Song About Me
2. Taking What's Not Yours
3. Loving Machine
Top 3 Sample Usage:
1. Safeword
2. Taking What's Not Yours
3. Not Allowed
This is a really catchy and fun ep when it comes to instrumentals! However I'm not a huge fan of the vocals. High Sunn's whiny voice works on some tracks but not others. Huge fan of the summer vibes, almost nostalgic in a way.
Standout track(s): Ramen Waitress, Polaroids, Joy of Romance
Fun house album unlike what we’ve seen from him before. If he can keep producing like this and tweak his vocals and lyrics then he might actually become an extremely notable artist in the future
