Not as bad as I thought, but it's definitely bad. Max just sounds terrible on here, so French kinda carried.
Favorites: Whippin That Wave, Narcos
Least Favorites: Used To Baby
Edit: Honesty, it's not ENTIRELY bad, there's just way too many filler.
By this point, Jay already made a few features on other albums, he even appeared on a Big Daddy Kane and Big L album, But this was his first major release (I think). Anyways, the 2 songs are pretty good, In My Lifetime was great, so is I Can't Get Wit Dat, but Jay of course went on to make better music.
Lloyd Banks, in my opinion, is one of the most underrated rappers of all time. He's in my top 5, and I am a HUGE fan of him, but this is sadly a bit disappointing, there are some fire songs, but most of the beats are ok, and kinda boring.
Favorites: CHANGED UP, HADDONFIELD

He said Don't Be Dumb. (I'm not Glazing, I just love this song)
Edit: 100 > 81
I was just hyped at the time, still amazing tho
First Review Of 2026!!๐
Anyways, it's a simple song, nothing too crazy, a bit short too, can't wait for coke wave tho.
It's just mid, Idk if it's just me, but Fetty P sounds ass, Dababy kinda carries though. The beats range from mid to just boring as fuck, but the second half is decent at least.

Disclaimer: I heard this album a LONGGG time before, I just never reviewed it.
So JAY-Z's 4th album is definitely a mixed bag, only reason I rated it a 73 is because during it has VERY strong moments. It definitely feels outdated, but it's not as bad as some people say, it's just that this album is kind of forgotten about.
Favorites: So Ghetto, NYMP
Least Favorites: Come And Get Me, S. Carter
I'm mixed on this album, there are songs that I LOVE on songs, but the last 4 songs are fucking BORING (even the song Mobb Deep is on), and the production ranges from perfect to mid. Capone is definitely more present on this album compared to "The War Report" and he even got his own song (Full Steezy). And it feels good to not hear Noreaga on Neptunes beats on this album, the beats are still hard-core and gritty as they were on they're first album, only more mainstream. ... read more
I always wondered what a real posthumous Big L album would sound in the new generation, well I got my answer.
I don't know how to describe this album, it's not bad, but it's not like a masterpiece or anything, like the case with most posthumous albums. This album has some genuinely good songs though, so I don't know how this album took me almost 2 months to fully finish (I was busy I guess???)
Quick Disclaimer, I was always a fan of Big L, I thought he was dope, and I ... read more
This is just 1 hour and 10 minutes of pure raw, hard-core rap, I love everything about it, the rapping, the beats, everything.
I been listening to capone n noreaga for a long time, they were my introductions to rap alongside DMX, but I never listened to a full album by them, and honestly, I don't really have anything to complain about here, maybe besides it kinda gets repetitive.

I rated this album in November, this is just a review.
I also listened to this album before I joined AOTY
This is one of the first albums I ever heard, and it's NEARLY perfect, the production is top notch, and Biggie's rapping is amazing, it's just the sex skits and diddy that holds it down
Favorites: The What, Machine Gun Funk
Least Favorites: Friend Of Mine
There's some boring moments, but there are some AMAZING songs, Max B might have one of, if not the greatest comeback in hip hop history
Favorites: ๐คจ Like Me, Chase A Check
Least Favorites: Turn Up For Me, Fiyah
Edit: This Grew off me ๐
Final Edit: Yeah it's mid.
Boring as hell, and the mixing is so ass too ๐ฅ
But can't blame him, this is just a mixtape filled of freestyles
This Is genuinely boring as hell, it's not the worst thing ever, but as one of the songs say, it's Dog Shit.
Edit: Mr. Recoup is Peanuts 2 N Elephant all over again. But it's funny as hell.
I've been waiting for a new Nas album since 2023, and he and preemo did NOT dissapoint (Preemo kinda did). For Preemo, it was a pretty bad year for him, but I feel like he kinda locked in for Nas, as some of fhe beats on this album are genuinely amazing. But I do feel like Nas carried this album.

As a huge Westside Gunn fan, honestly dissapointing, "DONT BE BRUEL" is fire tho
