Was this a bad record? No, I dont think it was but I would not say its a good one. I have not listened to all of The Black Keyes' albums, but the ones I have I keep going back to and listening to them all the way through. I wont be doing that with this one. The majority of the tracks are pretty good, easy listening, but the hip hop features really put a grinding halt on the project being a cohesive whole. Best tracks are easily This Is Nowhere and Beautiful People.
I don't know anything about the Sri Lankan civil war, but I do know a sweet piece of work when I hear one. This release pushed me even further into extremity in music and is worth a listen. The pay off of getting to the title track, after the previous thirteen minutes have built upon the noise grind and harsh noise elements, the delivery of TRIGGER UNIVERSAL KONFLCT is heavenly.

I think specifically of the run time of Bell Witch's Mirror Reaper with its hour and a half run time and getting lost within it. No issues like that here. The story told on the record is also there cool, and the tone of the music is perfect for the idea of eons of endless wandering. The peak of the album on 3: ... read more
