This is probably the carcass album that really shows how the music industry wasn’t ready for them when they started.
Like even down to the recording being pretty indecipherable, recording enginners wouldn’t be able to capture this kind of carnage on tape until Florida death metal bands started recording.

I do think after listening several times to this that people acting like this album is unfathomably bad is because it’s classified as black metal.
Honestly a lot of the tracks have an interesting abstraction of a lot of noise records but the weirdness that makes you sit up and notice it. This is a bonkers record and a lot of people want to punish stuff that makes them pay attention to the music they’re listening to
I heard the amazing song “Rote” and didn’t think it could be Human Remains because I had heard “Chewed up and Spit out” which I thought at the time was less creative ( listening to it now it also sounds pretty weird so not sure what I was thinking).

Great record, I think was the first Japanese noise adjacent record I ever listened to. Although I wish there was more variety because after the first few tracks, it kind of settles into a groove and stays there. Still pretty excellent stuff
Not only is this a great 90s noise Rock record, it also transcends that genre moving at times into black metal aggression and free experimentation.
Also at a time when some similar bands had lead singers that were just kind of yelling random stuff, there’s a creepy psychosexual focus to these lyrics like I love on “Skin” the way the vocalist says “ how are you feeling?” Like the worlds worst therapist and then screams “ you thought time was your friend”
