This is probably the carcass album that really shows how the music industry wasn’t ready for them when they started.
Like even down to the recording being pretty indecipherable, recording enginners wouldn’t be able to capture this kind of carnage on tape until Florida death metal bands started recording.
The album is maybe closer to Napalm death than the more refined symphony of sickness but it’s still pretty fun although it has the incoherence of the first few napalm death ... read more

Vorak - Triumph of the Will

I do think after listening several times to this that people acting like this album is unfathomably bad is because it’s classified as black metal.
Honestly a lot of the tracks have an interesting abstraction of a lot of noise records but the weirdness that makes you sit up and notice it. This is a bonkers record and a lot of people want to punish stuff that makes them pay attention to the music they’re listening to

I heard the amazing song “Rote” and didn’t think it could be Human Remains because I had heard “Chewed up and Spit out” which I thought at the time was less creative ( listening to it now it also sounds pretty weird so not sure what I was thinking).

I’m glad I finally figured this out because this record has to be one of the more inventive power violence/grindcore records. The killer chops of some of the musicians allows them to throw in some really insane ... read more

Zeni Geva - Desire for Agony
NR

Great record, I think was the first Japanese noise adjacent record I ever listened to. Although I wish there was more variety because after the first few tracks, it kind of settles into a groove and stays there. Still pretty excellent stuff

Dazzling Killmen - Face Of Collapse
NR

Not only is this a great 90s noise Rock record, it also transcends that genre moving at times into black metal aggression and free experimentation.
Also at a time when some similar bands had lead singers that were just kind of yelling random stuff, there’s a creepy psychosexual focus to these lyrics like I love on “Skin” the way the vocalist says “ how are you feeling?” Like the worlds worst therapist and then screams “ you thought time was your friend”

Pigfuck is kind of a questionable genre, but I really have seen some wild lists on both this site and RYM. My thinking is that Pigfuck is really only a late 80's-early 90's thing and the ...
