"Reflection" is a dated listening experience, that while not bad, you just can't ignore the cash-grab, trying to relate to the young audience this album is pandered to.
"Swipe my card, then I do the Nae Nae"—what does that even mean? I understand the reference, but I can't help rolling my eyes at these lyrics. They never made sense to my younger self, but I enjoyed them bc of the trends and relevance of the time, but now they just feel empty and outdated. Going through these lyrics they also sing "Do you ever post your pics with no filter? Hashtag: "I woke up like this too""—come on I get it being pandered to teens but I would like to give some credit to teens out there and say they probably would want some substance in the music they are listening, I know I did.
Also, the album is very confusing because sonically sometimes tries to emulate those 90s pop girl bands with that R&B sound and other times tries to bank off the Dance-pop sound, and while I have no problem with that, I do have a problem with the production that is not doing any of these girls a favor.
