As I listen to "Clancy" for the first time, I'm reminded that Twenty One Pilots will forever be my favorite band. So yes, this review may be a little biased.
The message and lore of this band is like no other, and having "Clancy" be the record that finishes it up, ...honestly is a bit of a shocker. Not what I expected in a lot of ways, but still managed to amaze me and many of the tracks have become some of my all time favorites. I will admit, some of the songs had to grow ... read more
RM is really in his element with this one! "Right Place, Wrong Person" expands RM's usual sound into a much more experimental and abstract sound, especially with track, "Domodachi", while also highlighting what he has already incorporated into his music. Even though he's been a great artist for years, this album seems like the point where he's finally fully fledged into his artistry. Not only could I enjoy these songs, I could spend forever dissecting them, both by sound and ... read more
I was so hyped for this release since it would be their first after they performed at Coachella, but I was unfortunately let down. All of the songs on this EP feel empty and soulless, in my opinion. "WORK" was fun, but definitely doesn't live up to their past title tracks at all. Overall, it just felt like club music that you'd probably never hear again after going home.
This has to be one of the most relaxing albums ever. I love putting this on while I wind down for bed. Their voices mix so well together and it just puts me in the best mood. Makes me feel like I’m in a Studio Ghibli film where everything will be alright.
Unfortunately, GLOOM DIVISION doesn't live up to previous works by Dallon Weekes. The vision was there, but the execution felt like it never reached its full potential. The start was pretty strong though, along with "SATANIC PANIC". I hope Dallon will be able to expand off of those songs for more projects in the future.
Xdinary Heroes just keeps getting better with each release. This is definitely up there as one of their best records. "Paint It" has earned its place as one of my top XH songs ever. They pull off rock so unbelievably well and I loved how they leaned a bit more into metal with "MONEYBALL". I'm so in love with this album.
This is such a cute album from such an amazing girl group. Although not too much stands out compared to their earlier releases, I still enjoyed the majority of the tracks, while others unfortunately fell short. Still a good listen, just not quite something I'd think to go back and revisit too often.
This has got to be one of their best releases, hands down. All of the tracks are very well put together and form the perfect sound of NCT DREAM. "UNKNOWN" especially stands out so beautifully. Their dreamy, uplifting songs will always be some of their best work! But, songs like "Smoothie" and "BOX" were also so cool and added so much flavor to the sound of this EP.
There’s nothing too special about this EP. It’s kinda a let down from what we’ve seen from before. “Honestly” is the only b-side that’s even worth mentioning. “Siren” was surprisingly disappointing. I remember begging for it to be released, but now I wish it never was. It’s also strange that they released it without Seunghan. This EP feels unfinished in many ways.
Conan Gray made the perfect album to time travel back to the 70’s and 80’s. Definitely one of the best albums at bringing back those eras into modern music. I love that he’s started to use his lower register recently and it perfectly fits into each song. A good amount of the songs do sound a lot like other songs that are actually from the 80’s but I’m not complaining. Unfortunately, I was disappointed by the shortness and blandness of certain songs. I would love to ... read more
Finally we’re getting more vampire Enhypen! Loved the concept and sound of this album. I wish it could’ve been for more than just the webtoon so that it could get more attention.
This album was MADE for P1Harmony! One of their best works so far, in my opinion. Not to mention, Jongseob’s rap in “Killin’ It” is absolutely his most iconic verse ever. However, I do think some of the tracks got repetitive as the album went on. I can’t wait to see more of what P1Harmony has for the future.
If I had to describe this album, I would say it’s a summary of TXT and their sound. Bringing back the pop rock from “Freeze”, the afrobeats from “Tinnitus”, and of course… the morse code. Personally, I loved the Anemoia Remix of “Deja Vu” better than the original. TXT and pop rock will always be the best mix, however I was hoping there could’ve been a bit more variety in the sound of this release.
Such a great album. Each song takes me to another universe with the great production and vocals. The environment of each song is just so beautifully crafted and pays so much attention to every detail. Billie seems to get more and more talented with each release. I loved how she decided to go down the jazz route a bit in this record. Just goes to show how versatile her talent is. This album definitely cemented itself as a classic for me.
