This is a hard album to score for a lot of reasons. In a lot of ways, I think this album is Eminem’s best work. I would be hard pressed to name songs from other Eminem albums that can compete with the likes of Kill You, I’m Back, Marshall Mathers, and Criminal. These songs all have a perfect combination of gritty and aggressive rhymes combined with great hooks and just enough humor to balance out some of the insane shit he says. This album is fantastic and arguably Eminem’s best. While I don’t think it reaches the same peaks the MMLP does, I find it to be a much more consistent album with no bad songs. It has also aged a hell of a lot better than MMLP although there definitely are still a good amount of moments that haven’t aged well. There really is no other Eminem album that executes this type of zany, wacky and cartoonish comedy this well and it makes this album really stand out.
An amazing and powerful album with no bad songs. While there are a few songs that I think could have been a bit better, there is no denying that this is a special project.
