Let's Active - Big Plans for Everybody
58

aoty random album 6: "Big Plans for Everybody"
im not calling it random "lp" anymore bc it's weird. also I've officially left the 2026 limit so I got a 1986 record from a seemingly unknown band and it was... ok?
it is almost shoegaze during the first 5 seconds then it becomes a genre I couldn't accurately indentify. the best songs are the first two (In Little Ways and Talking to Myself), and as you progress through the album the vocals get more and more ... read more

CABALLERO KNIGHT - 2 XPERIMENTAL 4U
92

you might notice my ratings of caballero knight look like they came from a random number generator but it's actually cause I can't decide whether I like it or not. for now this is peak so here's a 92

enby - MGMGMG
71

after two perfect singles, the artist enby returns with their third single "MGMGMG" and the atmosphere created this time overcomes the previous ones in quality.
drone has never been a genre I liked listening to, I've always found it extremely purposeless, busy and overwhelming.
however, enby somehow made it bearable in those 3 singles and I've actually felt myself being transported into another place. for "abrilite (wonderune1)" the place I went to didn't ... read more

monkye_ - One Last Smoke?
65

aoty random lp 5: "One Last Smoke?"
you see, this time I wanted to listen to something specific so I absolutely did not manipulate it to give me something trip hop related.
this was probably the most enjoyable one so far. I feel like it could have experimented more though, I didn't see it getting out of its confort zone at all. I still didn't understand how is this classified as trip hop, it might just be me but I believe this is more accurate with shoegaze.

Balancing Act - Who've You Come As?, Pt. 2
64

aoty random lp 4: "Who've You Come As?, Pt. 2"
finally the good things started to pop up! I don't really understand why this has only 11 ratings now, it sounds very good. not much to say about it really, just listen to it if you wish?

alfa00 - phono-homeostasis vs geostasis
NR

this would count as the 4th random lp but I don't know where tf should I listen to this

Svechanost - It’s Not Going
23

aoty "random" lp 3: "It's Not Going"
guess what? it's a drone album again, but this time it was bad and I almost fainted during the listening process.
too bad the cover is beautiful, it gave me high hopes for this. I was immediately thinking "oh it's going to give emo synthwave crystal castles dark depressing electronic". well, it was really depressing. not sure why this exists or who made it, but I don't recommend it. you can only listen to ... read more

Kalos4L - eternal
62

aoty "random" lp 2: "eternal"
since the previous one didn't give me a good first impression, I thought about giving up on this idea. but I didn't. and I listened to this ambient/drone album from an aoty user I guess?
this sounds like an analog horror soundtrack so I immediately like it a little bit. I'm assuming that cover is a picture of somebody looking down a hole because what else would it be?
kind of repetitive but it serves its purpose well

MPTL Microplastics - Sod In Heaven
30

aoty "random" lp 1: "Sod in Heaven"
wow, so for context aoty has a feature that recommends you a random release based on the restrictions you add. I chose "2026" and "LP" and I got recommended this hot garbage.
it was 2pm when I decided I was going to listen to this bc why not. keep in mind I was listening to Sigur Rós's Ágætis byrjun so when I pressed play on this I already knew I was on for a bad experience (well, bad at least ... read more

18 DAYS - Music For Departure
74

18 days you gotta stop with those names, wdym with this

86

arca introduced us to alien music back in 2014 and no one cared???

oingoboingo103 fan - tribute to oingoboingo103
34

tf is this shit and why does it cost 1,000 dollars
oingoboingo103 is a legend though

Charli xcx - SUCKER
67

awkward motivational music for spoiled white girls trying to run away from their suburban house without their white parents noticing so that they can be "rebels" at parties

Kanye West - BULLY
44

this album sounds like it is sick. it sounds as if it's made out of pollution, carbon dioxide, polyester and smoke. the last 5 tracks were so horrific that I thought my headphones weren't working for a moment. genuinely disturbing, it's sad to see what kanye became.

betcover!! - ζ™‚ι–“ [Jikan]
93

how could they improve this much in only one year? I could feel myself walking through Japan with this one, it's much more atmospheric than their previous two records, which were kind of generic(?)
I love how the singing stops and the chaos begins in the end of each song. probably my favorite band now right after Fishmans.
LISTEN TO TRACKS 4 AND 9 THEY'LL CHANGE YOUR LIFE

Portishead - Roseland NYC Live
100

this made me question my existence. everything I've done before listening to this masterpiece is now purposeless. I can't imagine how my life was before this. it might have been sad, annoying and boring, I don't know anymore because this deleted and cured all of my bad memories and made me float to the edge of the observable universe and I saw earth with my eyes which are the best that exist because this album cured them too, and I thought: oh most of them haven't listened ... read more

enby - Q wpjEP
59

For some reason this was pretty hard to find on bandcamp. And what in the keyboard smash are those track names?
Anyways, I don't know how to write a proper review to this so here are my thoughts:
— The sound quality needs some improvement.
— Other than the beats, it feels very repetitive and purposeless? Correct me if I'm wrong and saying something dumb but I can't imagine what the meaning of this would be.
— You're not quite there yet, but I see the ... read more
