I absolutely love the creative and dynamic quality that every song on this album has. Their polished indie rock sound fused with electronic synths creates a new and interesting style while still being distinctively The Strokes.
This album has grown on me a lot over time. I love the heavier and grittier sound First Impressions has over their first two albums, adding variety to their discography that I initially didn't appreciate but now seek out regularly.
The love the sound of this album. Keeping their same sound while adding greater variety.
Songs like Automatic Stop and Under Control have vastly different vibes with songs like What Ever Happened and Reptilia but still contain that same amazing Strokes sound.
Peak Indie Rock. I remember first hearing this album and thinking it was a greatest hits collection. I love the simple but meaningful lyrics and how intentional bad the mixing is.
