I love this album alot as its classic indie rock, but my main issue is that some songs really bring it down. The strech between the title track and yoshis island (the two best songs on the album imo) is really rough to get to for me, but notheless good (and gay) stuff.
Its ok for an EP. Not amazing, not anything terrible either. Killing Leaves and Towns away are for sure the standouts in the EP, but Never Let Me go, Kiss Me, Kiss Me, and Summers Spent Together all felt very weak and i even felt Never Let Me Go was a massive mistake to lead the EP off with. Overall, just ok.
Its the worst MoBo album, but that doesn't mean its bad. Its still a banging album with multiple masterpieces like Re-Do, Coals, and especially tears over beers. The instrumentals are solid and and lyrics are too, and the only weak song is @chl03k imo which is only like a 65~ which is why Sports isnt higher for me, but its still a fundemental Midwest Emo album to listen to.
My main gripe with this album was not the fact that it was made. I'm all for rerecording song and changing it up, but the way its done completely butchers some of these songs. Why does the Death Cup and Danger Cant remake (2 of my favorite songs on Best Buds) turn into generic pop punk hell? Tie Die is the only thing that really saves this album, as the rest of it feels like an incredibly generic, terrible, and flat out boring.
