Fill In The Blank: This is it. The last Car Seat Headrest album of my discography dive. And it's a remake of my favorite from theirs. A remake that turns it into a concept album? Okay? I mean this song is still really good. It's basically the same as the original. But clean. Why? The bridge sounds a good bit worse.
Vincent: “And the sequel” sounds so much worse that “Pure sadism” It's, again, practically the same as the original. It's not like I ... read more
CCF (I’m Gonna Stay With You): Okay! So I know I did a sort of shitty analysis for Teens of Denial and Twin Fantasy, but like, Jesus Christ man I am not doing all of that here. Maybe when I revisit this discography I’ll go in depth, but for a first time listen? Yeah, I’m good. Anyways, the intro starts off cool. Will’s voice sounds nice as always. This sounds really nice so far. It feels really clean and polished, which I know is a weird way to describe it, but I ... read more
Martin (Superorganism Remix): Nah.
Martin (1 Trait Danger Remix): Nuh uh.
Weightlifters (Scuba Remix): Nope.
Deadlines (yeule Remix): This one is alright actually.
Life Worth Missing (Dntel Remix): NO.
Overall: This is awful. No. This is BEYOND awful. This is the worst thing they’ve dropped. I know it's a remix album, but I don’t care. I never wanna listen to any of these songs again.
Golden Years: Okay. His singing is really awful in parts, the instrumental is. Fine. It sounds so unnatural I’m gonna be honest. This ain’t it.
Substitute: Eh. This one just sounds, whatever. Not as unnatural but it feels too, happy? Like I don’t know how to put it because yeah Car Seat Headrest has had more upbeat songs before, but this feels off I don’t know.
March of the Pigs: I’m so sorry Ethan.
Running Up That Hill: God this is so bad.
Overall: God. This ... read more
Weightlifters: Okay! So like, the really long reviews I made for Teens of Denial and Twin Fantasy are honestly just because I have listened to them/loved them for a while now. So I’m going back to reaction sort of reviews for the last few albums. Anyways, back on track! Weightlifters! Neat start so far. Quite the shift in sound I’ll say though. His vocals in this first verse sound nice, he's definitely moving along with the instrumental though, which isn't inherently a bad ... read more
