I tend to be into softer midwest emo but this album is honestly just a good vibe. Rare too see good emo made but this is fire
I cannot put into words how much I love this album. It's just heavy hitter after heavy hitter. I know the show is buns but all of the rerecorded tracks sound great and the new ones like spikeyseeds are just insane with how good they are. This is some of the best early 2000s Japanese Indie-Rock I have ever had the pleasure of hearing
It would be a 95 but the mixing is just not good. Otherwise this is a personal favorite of mine since I've been listening to her since Giblin. It's just got this perfect schizo loser vibe but rougher than her later work which is a bit of a bummer upon returning to it after gaburger or the fridge.
This is THE album of the 2020s. Very unique sound that stands out compared to other independent artists. Lot's of variety and probably one of the best breakup albums I personally have listened to. It's about Gez and her ex Birdbath's breakup and the drama surrounding it. AFAIK Gez was falsely accused of SA and other incelcore peeps like GreensOnToast spread that rumor leading to her becoming more independent from the scene. Snailcore is very much it's own sound and I have ... read more
It's aight. Like I enjoyed my time with it but this album won't do anything that convinces you to stick around. Good for light listening and the animal theme is cute but it won't blow you away or anything.
There's nothing I can really say about this other than how competent it is. It just works, like entirely without needing you to push past any roughness which is a major achievement considering what genre this album is.
This made me feel feelings I didn't know even existed in me. Screamo is not usually my thing but I actually enjoyed it on this project as it was not intrusive but more supplementary in nature. And holy hell Sleep patterns is just everything you could want from a midwest emo song. It's haunting and somber but in an almost uplifting way.
This is an all-time favorite. It feels like they took the last year of American Small town highschool and compressed it into one project. Perfect dissonance, gentle muffled mixing and whiny yet innocuous vocals make this feel like the penultimate representation of being the weird kid in a town with one walmart as the main attraction.
good vibes, kinda scuffed mixing and the screaming is just too much for what could be a really good melancholic ambient album. If there was no bad screamo it would be an easy 85/100 at least
It was a really enjoyable listen but I just didn't feel like I was listening to midwest emo as much as a pop or soft emo album at times. I still enjoyed it but I just wasn't enamored with it as much as other albums I've heard
