Easily one of the best and well considered ambient records of the decade. First three tracks of this VA reflect the quality of the more spacious and ethereal music that has been made for these past years.
Despite being an understandably forgotten record in Massive Attack's discography, it still is very well produced and aesthetically-oriented. A bit like 'Mezzanine', '100th Window' follows a dark but more electronic path. Waving away from the dub roots that founded MA, the more digital approach is felt throughout, always pursuing a melodic and melancholic goal, without losing great beat production.

Not their best record but undoubtedly one of their most influential works. Whilst some of the tracks are more forgettable than others, it still is one hell of a first album, setting the blueprint for a whole genre and subculture, deeply rooted on dub, hip-hop and Bristol's imported soundsystem culture
