Currents

Kevin goes for a more "pop" direction than its rock-laden predecessor (even if it still has plenty of guitars). There are synths galore and the bass and drums are more prominent than ever. This is not a fault by any means, as this is some of the best psychedelic pop you'll ever hear... and one of the best sounding records of the past ten years! Every song on here has amazing hook after amazing hook, whether it be the bassline on "The Less I Know The Better", the "'CUZ I'M A MAAAAANNN', WOMAAAAANNN'" refrain or the constant bickering from ear to ear on "New Person, Same Old Mistakes". Musically, the soundplay, production quality and songwriting/lyrical ability has been built upon. Despite it not being as consistent as "Lonerism", I still think "Currents" is just as fantastic on every front and I love them just about the same.
