This is a perfectly fine song that just doesn't do much for me. The beat never really goes anywhere, and I'm not crazy about any other elements of the song. I find the bass-heavy repetition of the chorus to be really annoying and the lyrics are a little too corny for me to care for. It's a song made by Victoria Monét for Victoria Monét, which I absolutely respect.
This is very lame! The main appeal of the original song, at least personally, was Billie Eilish's attitude and presence. She was the cool guy, the bad guy. That was the whole point of the song. Throwing Justin Bieber on it completely kills the original vibe and message. Justin Bieber isn't a bad guy in the cool way, but a bad guy in the way of getting a DUI and just being a notorious douche. Billie is still cool and being herself, Justin is still hopping on whatever will get him his ... read more
I don't get this one at all??? Maybe it's just my overall distaste for the genre of soft rock and the recent throwback hits we've had, but this song doesn't do it for me. It's overbearing vocally, feeling like I'm being belted at during the chorus which I understand is the point of the chorus. Bruno Mars absolutely carries this song, and I could see myself enjoying it more if it was just him, not that Lady Gaga makes it that much worse or better.
As I ... read more
I love the electric line that runs through the song, it adds a lot of personality to a beat I don't find myself too interested in besides the cool effect of the warped bass. Rihanna carries charisma in certain vocal moments throughout. Still, her performance during the verses is a little lackluster, which I don't blame her for considering it's a dancehall song and isn't required to be lyric-heavy. Great for the moment it lived in, an interesting stepping stone for someone ... read more
The fact the 4:21 is my birthday number and the fact that 'I Will' was my most played song this year shows that she just knows I'm a real one yk
Completely devastated every time I listen to it, but every time it comes on I never turn it off.
This is not about the controversies of Kanye West. This is not about the things he's said, what he's done, what he will do.
With that statement, I am comfortable saying that Vultures 2 is the worst Kanye West album. It's sonically unpleasant, lyrically disastrous, and a depressing listen. The beats are mostly terrible, clunky messes that the verses and flows often do not fit over. I do think some of the beats are redeemable if they were mixed properly and handed off to a ... read more
I'm not crazy about the chorus on this one. I like the darker elements of it but I have a hard time sitting through it. The remixes were really not good. They were either too crowded or too boring. The Melé Remé Remix was the worst out of them, really overblown and had an unfitting drop, vocals did not work at all. Overall, it's just fine. I liked the instrumental!
This is a fine enough EP. You're the One is pretty basic, something I would skip over on the radio along with its remix. Nuclear Seasons has aged pretty well, the production sounding fantastic while still carrying over nostalgia from the 2010s. The remix is honestly super entrancing and ethereal, I like it more than the original.
Favorite: Nuclear Seasons (Balam Acab remix)
Least Favorite: You're the One
Boring. Plsss Rina do not help Paris Hilton make an unwanted and unneeded music career.
I think Kali Uchis is literally a witch or something because she never fails to make a song magical and dreamy
The best outcome you could get if you asked an AI to create a Charli XCX song. The production is fine, and a better artist (insert Charli XCX here) could have really made something special of the song. The problem with Camila Cabello making this switch into hyperpop is that it feels soooo forced. Genre switches aren't inherently a bad thing, but it's very clear when an artist is jumping on what sells instead of actual artistic interest. Hopefully she can step it up and switch the ... read more
Ice Spice again fails to convince me that she has more than one song. Jack Harlow's feature on Industry Baby is the same as Ice Spice's feature on Boy's a Liar Pt.2; an artist seemingly being a one trick pony and showing up to do a great verse, only to be followed up with stale singles.
