I love thugger but I cant take this shit seriously. The song starts with a 2 minute AI sung intro that supposed to make u emotional like if it was a real person singing that. Embarassing

Gunna - The Last Wun
30

I like Gunna usually but this just over an hour of him at his worst. Almost zero songs on this feel new or special for Gunna. It's weird because his last two albums were a lot more consistent imo. The Last Wun is extremely bland and boring. "showed em" is a banger though.

Trippie Redd - World Boss
75

Interesting & experimental single from Trippie, although I don't really understand why he would release this as a single when the stuff he previewed before sounded like a hit. Pretty fun song but I hope this makes more sense in the context of the album.

Kid Cudi - Free
74

As a big Kid Cudi fan, it's very inspiring to see that he finally found his happy place, so to speak. "Free" is a pretty decent venture into pop, which he dabbled in before but never for a full project.

I gotta say, I like this album, but I don't love it. I feel like there could've been a couple more highlight tracks, some songs really do fit into the H&M music category, but even those aren't bad by any means. "Neverland" still didn't grow on ... read more

Kid Cudi - Mr. Miracle

I'm so happy this man is still releasing bangers of this magnitude so late into his career. LFG!!!

Trevor Something - Trevor Something Does Not Exist
87

Many would consider this album his peak. I would too.

I gotta say, this is the best album experience Trevor has curated, especially the first half is just pure 80s fun at it's absolute best.
The amount of remixes of other songs and also his own on here is what sours it a tiny bit for me, these are great, but honestly, I would prefer completely original stuff from him. Tracks like "Come Back Down" and "Summer Love" are among his best songs ever. Must listen for 80s ... read more

Trevor Something - Love Me and Leave Me
79

"Love Me and Leave Me" is the perfect album to represent what Trevor Something is all about.
I think this is honestly a pretty great tracklist. As the title suggests, the first half is centered around falling in love, and the second half around falling out of love. The story might be simple but the album really effectively captures Trevor's two biggest styles of songs. His songwriting and production on this is really strong. Pretty good album, one of his best. Only negative ... read more

Trevor Something - Microwaves

Another album from Trevor I skipped initially. Hearing it now makes me think that skipping it was a mistake.
Even though this isn't his best work, there are quite a few standouts on this, like the popular "You Are My Obession".
The production is consistently pretty great, because even the more middle of the road songs like "You're So Ugly" get elevated due to the production. Album's concept is also pretty cute.

Trevor Something - Lost Love

Decent collection of bonus tracks from his 2016 album SCBATER and also throwaways from his 2017 album "Die With You". I like the experimentation on some of these tracks like Track 2 for example. I find myself enjoying most of these tracks, even though some don't click for me. The instrumental section is quite dreamy and the EP really makes an effort to stay engaging by switching up the sound a lot.

Favs: Parasite, With You, Leaving This Planet, Eternity
Worst: Excess, 2001

Trevor Something - Distorted Reality
55

Kinda crazy EP, consisting of tracks that experiment with his usual sound, the production tries to go hard but only really lands on the title track for me. It's a mixed bag.
The last track is horny as hell.

Favs: Distorted Reality, Inside Of You

Trevor Something - Lost Memories
72

Good EP, mostly consisting of songs that didn't seem to make the cut from his 2014 era of albums. I like the even more digital and glitchy production these songs can have, fits the cover well. "Young Again" and "Do You Remember" are great tracks.

Trevor Something - The Death Of
76

The Death Of Trevor Something. Well not really.

I listened to this album years ago and it kinda just went in one ear and out the other, I really don't know why I felt that way back then, because there are some good songs on here. You could say this is something of a successor to his 2017 album "Die With You" as the sound on this is leaning more into rock. I can definitely say one thing, this is miles better mixed than the other album. Listening it to it now, I appreciate it a ... read more

Trevor Something - Die With You

One of the only projects by Trevor that I somehow didn't fully listen to, and it was in part because of the switch up of genres. I'm glad I finally did, and even though I don't love this album, it is definitely a decently well executed vacation from his usual sound.

I love some songs quite a bit, like Track 3, for example, but on the other half of the album, I find myself thinking "This could be decent if it was fully expanded upon" Instead, some songs just seem to ... read more

Freddie Gibbs - Alfredo 2
85

Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist are back for another collabo, and it's a sequel to the fantastic "Alfredo"
Right off the bat, I don't think this is better than the first one, despite a lot of people saying so. The longer runtime just makes for an experience that is harder to nail and keep the listener engaged, and the tracklist on Alfredo 2 can feel a little samey at points, I think the first album had more variation. I had some major concerns for this album, because of The ... read more

JACKBOYS - JACKBOYS 2

As someone who thinks that Travis hasn't released a bad project yet, other than the occasional mid single or underwhelming feature, I'm sad to say that the day has finally come he released something bad on project length.

Travis is usually a curation master but this is curated SO BADLY it's shocking. This really sounds like he asked everyone on Cactus Jack to hand over their throwaways. This feels unfinished when listening and is far cry from the consistency from the first ... read more

Kid Cudi - Grave

Way better than the first single "Neverland". Cudi's singing on this is really hitting the right spots for me. This song is honestly kinda addicting, the melodies Cudi hits are good. I now have much more hope for the upcoming album!

Kid Cudi - Neverland
50

Late review but as a big Cudi fan I kinda just put this to the side because my first listen wasn't too positive.
I don't hate Cudi going into a pop direction, bro proved he can write great tunes, but this just isn't it. This song is so overdone, the multiple layering vocals on the chorus really makes my ears bleed. I feel like if Cudi didn't strain his voice trying to sing the chorus it could've been good. The rest is definitely overcooked but atleast somewhat ... read more

MDMA - Witchcraft 1.5

After listening to this right after the IMO great album "Peak of Molly" I was a little disappointed. I don't think it's as good as that album but it's definitely not as bad as it's rated on here.
"Witchcraft 1.5" is overall a mixed bag, couple of really good songs and the rest ranges from mid to lowkey bad, also the project has horrible mixing at parts which definitely drags some songs down.
Worth a listen, though.

10/10 cover art.

MDMA - Peak of Molly

The title really is accurate, from what I've heard from MDMA so far, this really is his peak.
Absolutely fun and great album, the beats are sweet and catchy and MDMA hits a lot of cool flows and inflections.
Not really much more to say than that, it's just an all around good listening experience, and it will be your liking if your into catchy underground hip-hop.
