Will Wood & The Tapeworms - Everything Is a Lot
92

I don't really know what to say about this. I was introduced to Will Wood a while ago from his music videos and at first I was like, "What's the appeal?" But I think as i've gotten older i've started to understand it more. This is essentially if ...Like Clockwork by the Queens of the Stone Age was made for edgy theatre kids and I love it. It's a very melancholy album with a solid collection of "This Guy Is Insane! LOOK AT HIM" and love songs. I know ... read more

Good Kid - Can We Hang Out Sometime?
80

As Good Kids debut full length album, This is a great way to bust out the gates and show everyone what you can do. Of course like most people I listened to good kid because of their cover of From The Start, But ever since I saw one of their music videos in 7th grade I've been hooked on the bands whole identity and vibe. When it comes to the music, It gives me a similar feeling, almost as if I've heard it before, but I know I haven't. I can hear the inspiration that this band took ... read more

Bruno Mars - The Romantic
71

I'm going to be completely honest with you, I'm probably one of the only people here on AOTY who has tolerance for basic pop music. This album doesn't hold too much for it to be considered amazing, but It's just average romance pop. I was expecting a bit more than what we got but I'm not disappointed to the point that I'm salty about the project. I really liked a majority of the songs on the project, A few I was indifferent towards and I was at first a fan of ... read more

Gorillaz - The Mountain
95

I specifically didn't listen to the singles before the release date just so I wouldn't be able to guess how the actual album would sound, so here is my review. There is SO much to say about his album. First of all, this is an album you don't fully understand by just listening to it once, When I review an album I listen to it front to back once then I make the review. But with this album, I feel like I need to listen to it about 5 times to just understand a few of the songs. These ... read more

The Scythe - Strictly 4 The Scythe
75

It's a good Mixtape. I don't know how my favorite song on it is the one with RUGRAT on it, but I guess Denzel is just that good of a rapper (I wish he had more verses). When I came to give my thoughts I saw a lot of people talking about how the second half is infinitely worse than the first. and Yeah, they aren't wrong. I personally liked HOOPTY, but the rest of them do kinda suck. I feel like I should have liked TAN cuz it reminds me of ISSBROKIE and I really like her music. But ... read more

Erykah Badu - Mama's Gun
99

My lord is this a good album. This is a phenomenal Neo-Soul album That I have been dang near addicted to for the past month. The way that all the songs just blend together is amazing, even if they didn't put the transitions in it's still Smooth AF and Every song feels like it's very own world even though they sound similar. Badu channeled something else that I can't quite grasp into this album and I love it. It started strong and stayed strong throughout the whole project. ... read more

Starbomb - Starbomb

I used to listen to this album when I was edgy and emo in 6th grade.

Momma - Welcome to My Blue Sky
71

I found out about Momma, Ironically, while talking with my mother about how we don't hear about any mainstream rock bands anymore. So we decided to looks at a few articles made by rock nerds to see what the new hot stuff was, Momma was high on the list so we decided to check them out. While my mother only really listened to their most popular hits, I decided to listen to their latest album. And I can get where all the hype is coming from, I just don't consider it my kind of music. I ... read more

Drake - Thank Me Later
55

Let me preface this by saying I don't listen to much of drakes music. I heard God's Plan, Hotline-Bling, Jimmy Cooks, Etc. and that's pretty much it. But I am aware of what albums of his are generally the worst and the best. For example I know "Nothing Was The Same" "If You're Reading This It's Too Late" and "Take Care" are considered his best albums from casuals and critics alike and his later albums like "Honestly Nevermind' and ... read more

DANGERDOOM - The Mouse and the Mask
97

A lot of people love MF DOOM, I'm one of them. But when most people talk about their favorite DOOM album they say, Madvillainy. And honestly that's a fair choice for your favorite. This, however, is the MF DOOM album I prefer personally, and it's mainly because of DangerMouse's production. Madlib is one of the best current rap producers, possibly of all time. But Danger Mouse has been in so many corners of my life, I feel like I have been conditioned to prefer his music over ... read more

Isaiah Rashad - The Sun's Tirade
82

I've heard people talk about Rashad before. and they usually speak of him as a MID artist. Not special and not particularly talented. While this isn't the greatest rap album of all time. Isaiah is absolutely an amazing artist. His slow soft flows on the sleeping production just makes me feel relaxed. This is chill music at it's near finest. The features don't outshine Rashad in any way, even with kendrick on the album I like both of their verses on "Wat's ... read more

AJR - OK ORCHESTRA
51

I know this is an unpopular opinion, But AJR is Overhated. I grew up with a lot of their stuff so I probably am partially bias, and I have grown out of their must for the most part. However AJR Confuses me and Intrigues me at the same time, and I guess that's why I keep on listening. To explain this, I will differ this from my other reviews and I will go through each of the songs on this album front to back to explain why I think AJR is overhated and one of the strangest mainstream bands ... read more

Clipse - Let God Sort Em Out
95

I'm not going to compare this to Clipse's previous work, mainly because I haven't listened to a lot of their past music. But let me tell you, After this album I might just do a marathon of their entire catalog. This is one of the best rap albums of the 2020's decade so far and with the all star lineup of artists on this project how could it not be. Pharrell hits you with some of the best beats of the past decade, They're so good that I have to listen to the song again ... read more

Ray Vaughn - The Good The Bad The Dollar Menu
81

Why aren't more people talking about this album? I understand that Let God Sort 'em Out came out this year, along with God Does Like Ugly, Alfredo 2, and Magic Alive! But this is still phenomenal, not reinventing the wheel or anything but It deserves so much more recognition. This is the most emotional an album has made me in a long time. Sure The Bird's Don't Sing by Clipse did actually make me cry, but that was just for one song on a whole album. This entire thing is so ... read more

Danny Brown - Stardust
78

There's not too much I can say about this album that hasn't already been. Danny grabbed the essential LGBTQ+ artists (+ is Quadeca) and then ran into the recording booth and came out with a piece of art. I Personally really like the underscores track Copycats, and, Being a fan of ISSBROKIE, I of course love Whatever The Case. It's like he came out of the closest but instead of a new Sexuality/Gender it's just a pretty dang good album

Stevie Wonder - Songs in the Key of Life
100

This is without a doubt. My FAVORITE ALBUM OF ALL TIME. There will never be a music artist like Stevie Wonder again. This album is the closest thing to heaven on earth. All the songs are beautiful, ethereal, and basically anyone can enjoy it. I don't know what Stevie did when he was recording this. But I can only assume he channeled the energy of an angel into this project. Sorry for going crazy like this, I just don't know how to express how much I love this album.

Domo Genesis - Genesis
79

My Opinions on the Album may change as I listen to it more, but on a first listen, it's very underrated. Of course not all of the instrumentals hit me like a truck and his rapping does start to blend between songs which makes it hard to follow, but there are a few that I can't describe as anything else but infectious. the Features such as Tyler, Mac, and Paak make sure that it isn't overly repetitive, and while there are points in the album that I feel like could have used a ... read more

Queens of the Stone Age - ...Like Clockwork
100

It should go without saying, this is my favorite rock album, and my second favorite album of all time. I listened to this full thing in school, but no matter what work I did I couldn't be pulled away from the distortion on the guitars and the general almost eltrich atmosphere this album brings to the table.
Music is art, and art is to see the soul in someone. Art is made to be a way to express yourself and your life experiences in a way that people will actually listen too (Cause ... read more
