bbno$ - round and round
70

I don't like this as much as "why am i like this" and "diamonds are forever" but I do like how this is a mix of his tiktok banger style with the more introspective and meaty lyrics of his recent personal music. Also holy shit Y2K is such a goat with his production this shit sounds incredible.

Tyler, The Creator - CHROMAKOPIA
90

Tyler's music has mostly been a mystery to me, I listened to Flower Boy in 2017 and loved it but since then I never got to more of his discography. It wasn't until recently when I decided to give his catalogue an actual look, and I'm so glad I did because we're starting off on a super high note with CHROMAKOPIA.

This album is disjointed, inconsistent, and all over the place, but it all works in its favor. Ranging from the bangers like "Thought I Was Dead" and ... read more

SXMPRA - EXISTENTIAL CRISIS
60

I first found out about this dude from his song "BUSTAZ" and ever since then I've kept an eye on his stuff because in my opinion he's a standout talent in the admittedly overstuffed phonk/memphis rap scene. Like most artists in that space he never had a full length project until now, and now that it's here, how is it? Well, definitely a mixed bag.

First off I wanna say that I respect SXMPRA a great deal for wanting to branch out on this project, the sounds range from ... read more

The Beatles - Rubber Soul
100

There's not much I can say about this album that hasn't been said before. While I feel like the albums Abbey Road and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band may have a more experimental and clean sound, this is a fantastic album that easily gets my top spot in my Beatles ranking.

10/10

Favorite Tracks: All of them but specifically Drive My Car and Nowhere Man are my top 2 favorites
Least Favorite Tracks: I guess What Goes On? but it's still good, love you rigno

bbno$ - why am i like this
90

Proving "diamonds are forever" wasn't a one off introspective single, bbno$ changes genres dramatically, going into indie rock and even experimental pop. I'm really impressed by this, I do love his hip house era probably more than most people LMAO but I'm all here for this new introspective genre change, really enjoyable.

bbno$ - diamonds are forever
80

bbno$ returns from his "retirement" with a surprisingly personal and psychedelic piece of pop rap, I really hope he continues this direction because while I love the bangers, this reflects a side of the man that I feel is ripe for some amazing music.

Jon Lajoie - Please Use This Song
90

Unlike the recent Kyle Gordon song based on a similar concept of parodying the "stomp and holler" sub genre of rock in the 2010s, Jon Lajoie actually gives an interesting and funny spin on this all to familiar brand of commercial friendly bops. The production on this song is fucking incredible, it sounds genuinely like a studio production and if this played in a commercial for any of the ad companies mentioned, I don't think anyone would turn their head. Jon's lyrics are ... read more

Kyle Gordon - We Will Never Die
30

Kyle Gordon serves up his usual meal of extremely irritating (if well produced) style parodies. I think where this song shines is the production, even if I feel like it's insanely dry and cheap sounding, especially on the drums, but it does sound pretty pleasing. I think where this song really gets me is Gordon's vocals and lyrics, now I'm fully aware that this smug shrill voice is just what he does for his style parodies, but it still makes it incredibly annoying to listen to ... read more

Connor Price - About Time
70

Color me surprised, Connor Price is a rapper that I've usually thought is pretty devoid of personality, despite his clear skill when it comes to rapping, however this album is pretty fun. I think the middle section is kinda rough with songs like More Mentors and By My Side being especially hard to get through but overall? Definitely some good pop rap with some good hooks and surprisingly personal lyrics from Price.

SERENA'S METAL ADVENTURE #11

Hooo boy...I wanna start off by saying that I did really enjoy Magnolia Park at one point, I think that their pop punk sound was very enjoyable and a breath of fresh air from the MGKs of the world. However I've been steadily enjoying them less and less as they've made their image change from a pop punk band that handles some serious topics like racism, into a generic dark and brooding alt metal band that only makes generic songs about how ... read more

Hanumankind - Monsoon Season

The self proclaimed "Big Dawg" finally came out with his debut album and honestly? This album proves more than ever that while this Indian MC isn't exactly perfect, he has a TON of potential and I really enjoyed this project. From the tribal like production of the title track, to the unexpectedly political lyrics on "Cause", to the heartbreaking ones on "Someone Told Me", this album kept me engaged. Now I'm not gonna act like it's all hits and no ... read more

JakeNeutron - Jax Toy
90

This is easy fodder for AOTY to hate, but as for me I've always found this really enjoyable, I think the production is nice and zany and I think the time signature change in the later half is a fantastic incorporation (along with the joke of the boombox being busted being the catalyst for the offbeat section). I will admit that I possibly have bias due to being in the TADC fandom but I will also say that I think a LOT of TADC fan songs either suck or are just meh, so it's good to have ... read more

George Harrison - George Harrison
90

Cementing his status as my favorite Beatle, George comes through with a sweet, ,sunny, and psychadelic self titled LP that is enjoyable from start to finish. Even songs like Faster and Soft-Hearted Hana. which personally run a bit long to me, are still enjoyable. This is the perfect album to just relax to on a rainy day, despite the sunny disposition on the cover art. A fantastic effort from George that once again, cements him as my favorite Beatle.

bbno$ - bbno$
60

bbno$ is an artist that I'm happy is around, he makes fun party music and every time he drops a single the entire internet knows, the marketing on this dude is unreal. I have a massive respect for him especially since I've been keeping tabs on him since 2021, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried for this self titled effort. As much as I enjoy singles like "two", "1-800", and "it boy", would a whole album of these songs be good or would it ... read more

Bro makes the same fucking song over and over but it's the same fucking good song over and over so I'm chill with it, hyped for the album, thank you bibinos for another banger.

Caleb Hyles - Abstraction
50

Honestly, the hate is overblown, but like a lot of Caleb's music, it's just kinda meh to me, the instrumental is cool and I like the vocals well enough but it's nothing remarkable.

5/10

Yumi - LOST
55

Fantastic production across the board and Yumi is definitely a talented rapper in terms of flow but it's buried in a lack of cohesion, messy mixing, and lackluster writing, not the worst piece of YouTuber music, but nothing great either.

5.5/10

Favorite Tracks: RUN, FLOW, BLACKTOP
Least Favorite Tracks: POISON, DANCE

Freddie Dredd - Cease & Disintegrate
85

While way too short in my opinion, this is 14 minutes of head bopping phonk and horrorcore that has a consistently eerie aesthetic, and again while it's short, every track hits hard and sounds like an old abandoned tape you shouldn't be listening to.

Favorite Tracks: USELESS, ON THE NEWS, SACRIFICE MYSELF
Least Favorite Track: NOTHING INTO SOMETHING

AJR - Neotheater
80

Well well well, it’s been over a month and I’ve FINALLY gotten to the third album in my AJR journey, Neotheater. Now full disclosure I did hear one song from this album before I did a full listen, that being 100 Bad Days, but besides that I was going in completely blind, and honestly? I’m gonna be so real, this is easily their best album so far, by a LONG shot, at least the ones I’ve heard, maybe that’ll change in the future but my experience was way more emotional ... read more

Logic - ITS A FEE

When he previewed this I thought it was gonna be insanely corny but it kinda goes hard, I think the production is hard hitting and I really dig the vocal delivery from Logic, definitely interested in Sidequest as a project.
