While it can be called a step down from the original, I do enjoy this album. Just don't expect it to be a major reinvention of the original, it's a more traditional remix album. It isn't groundbreaking or remarkable, it's just meant to extend the era's lifespan.

Listen to this album is a therapeutic experience. Kendrick has polished his sound and made it more accessible, but, in turn, he lost some of the edge that made his previous works so iconic.
But a smoothed out Kendrick still delivers a solid concept, well thought out lyrics, and a great handle on the message. An album you can listen top to bottom and bottom to top? Crazy.
