Very aggressive and industrial sounding song that feels different from everything they've done before but it still sounds like silly goose. Not super creative lyrics (it doesn't get more creative than "i'll knock you out" kinda jokes) but they absolutely match the energy of the song
This sounds like it could have been a massive hit in the early 2000s. Great rhythm, memorable chorus, great production for a relatively small band, it has everything. Definetely in the top 10 nu songs of the last 20 years
This really feels like a modern classic, definetely one of the best nu metal albums of the last 15 years. Every track is great and worth coming back to, even though some of them aren't as memorable. I REALLY wish them trying to write slower songs though, since it would help the album to feel more diverse and it's not like they can't write slow songs (they showed it in their first EP with "Better with you"), but the album's over before it gets repetitive.
Almost perfect EP, this is Silly Goose in their prime. The title track, tsunami, live it up, king of the hill, all iconic tracks that have become live staples of the band.
Everything's over now is also good, but it doesn't have a great chorus. I like that Jackson tried to write more serious lyrics, but the music doesn't match too much with them.
altought it sounds a bit rough it sets the basis for what silly goose will sound like in the future. I would only recommend it to fans of the band that want to explore their deep cuts
very raw sounding nu metal album, definetely worth a listening
This is one of the few songs I consider perfect from start to finish. I genuinely can't name a single flaw this song has.
The lyrics are about the time when Scott Stapp was questioning his faith and started realising he was the cause of all his problems, making the lyrics feel personal and very impactful, plus Scott delivers a raw and poetic vocal perfomance.
The music reflects perfectly the lyrics, with the slower parts reflecting the depression and sadness this song conveys, and the ... read more
This song is objectevely terrible, as is a nu-metal douchy stereotype. But I have to admit that it slaps. It somehow manages to hype the listeners up and it works great as an album opener. This song is a guilty pleasure and I'm there for it.
The breaktrough EP by Hybrid Theory, which will later become Linkin Park, is surprisingly great. You wouldn't expect this level of quality from a very young band like this one.
This EP is so raw and angsty in songs like Carousel, And One and Part of Me, but it also has some more rap influenced songs like Step Up and High Voltage.
I'll definetely recommend it to every fan of this kind of nu-metal, but also to every Linkin Park fan.
