Slimdan writes such relatable stories about the reality of young people, that you don’t even have to relate to them to feel like you’re watching them in real time as a movie.
Slimdan pens explanations of the human experience, better than almost anyone right now, and it feels like it’s just a matter of time until he’s truly noticed.
The songs on this LP consistently build to such awesome climax, it really is a journey.
I love the song drank on accutane.
Apart from that I will say the instrumentals are not really my vibe, hard not to cringe a lil at some parts.
BUT the insane story telling has me wishing I wrote these damn songs, summing up human experiences in a fun and entertaining manner.
There are some very clear moments where this album lulls but overall, slimdan is a great vocalist and his voice works very well over these mostly simple and light instrumentals. The lyrics are sometimes slightly poetic, but a lot of times more confessional and I love that. I really just wish there was more to this project and that some of the poorer songs were cleaned up a bit, great otherwise.
