I feel like the songs on this album are all built on a very similiar formula, which is having a very nice, rough sounding theme or tune constructed by the bass and the drums, while the saxophone is doing some sort of a free improvisation. This worked like charms for me on tracks like The Hands, Up. And Down. or To Shave... where the basis of the song was very interesting and it was able to keep me engaged even though it became monotone.
