Cunningham Bird is a very odd but extremely likable album. The album could have gone wrong in so many ways, and yet, it really is quite a success.

Apparently, the whole thing is a cover of an unreleased pre-Fleetwood Mac album from Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks called Buckingham Nicks (props to jessiehehe). Now, I don't know how the original was supposed to sound, but either way, this was a marvelous experience. It’s a charming record but I understand why these tracks were never released by both Buckingham and Nicks. They’re okay but nothing special.

For what's essentially a cover album (of material that most people have never heard), this is GORGEOUS. The instrumentation and vocals are lush and beautiful, Andrew and Madison sound AMAZING together, and the songwriting is (naturally) elite. Being what it is, it's not as creative or complex as Revealer, but it's easily among Cunningham's greatest, and she's still so young!

This is my Daisy Jones and the Six. Andrew and Madison bring something so special to this incredibly beautiful album.

“Say you needed someone to depend on
You're all alone, she's the only one
Who can come take you far away
Take your breath away
But she'll leave you
Crying in the night“

“Sunflowers and your face fascinate me
You go into the dusty pink day
I come calling unto you
But you run
You're the winner
Long distance winner”

And with that, I have listened to every Andrew Bird album. This one is pretty fine, i don't think it holds a torch to most of his solo projects, but it has a place in his discography
