NME
Cench has turned his fleeting viral songs into a fearsome trajectory to the top. Now, he’s ready to reflect on the madness it took to get there.
80
Rolling Stone
The buzzing U.K. rapper’s studio debut is a worthy entry into the genre of motivational raps, and proof that his viral rise is deeper than the algorithm.
80
Clash
The West London rap sensation plays to his strengths on his long-gestating, blockbuster debut full-length.
80
The Guardian
The debut album from the British star finds him rapping rings around even high-profile guest stars as he asserts his place at hip-hop’s high table.
80
The Independent
British rapper comes through with his smartly produced debut, which sees him switching between macho posturing and surprising vulnerability.
70
Crack Magazine

Nothing about Can’t Rush Greatness is unexpected; but you sense that’s the point.

61
Pitchfork
The ubiquitous UK rapper presents himself as success personified, the voice of a new generation. But his Columbia debut sounds market optimized and risk averse.

musicOMH

There’s potential across this record, but not consistent greatness.

60
AllMusic
The album sees Cench find new collaborations with rising Puerto Rican star Young Miko and grime pioneer Skepta, alongside another link-up with Dave following the pair's number one-charting "Sprinter" in 2023.
60
The Observer
The British rapper gathers his bangers and chart-toppers together with less impactful work on this 17-track record.
40
The Needle Drop
Central Cee's long-awaited debut album is proof you can't rush mid either.

RapReviews.com
The best songs on here are when he’s trying to be genuine, but when he openly admits that he’s not genuine, there’s nothing redeemable on offer outside of played-out financial flaunting filtered through an expensive American version of UK Drill.

CAN’T RUSH MIDNESS. Some highs on this album but majority of the Cench’s flows are repeated and gets stale. Hard to be entertained for the full listen.

Omg why he can't change his flow, he thinks he DABABY or something?🫤🫤

Well I don't know what I expected, but this is pretty much a torture, he yaps for 48 mimutes about how much he's a cool guy, how much he has success with womans and how much he is patient and street intelligent.

I mean, what could anyone possibly like about this, it's bland, he sucks at riding beats, any kind of beat, every Central Cee performance sounds the same, sometimes the feats save the ... read more

I can listen to GBP sometimes. But in general the album is really just a waste of my time. Trash, Cee. There much more interesting underground UK drill rappers which you can listen to.
