Earcandy as a debut is an anti-introduction; part of the joy of this project is tracing her more experimental edges into the gleefully watered down portions of it we’re served.

This is an unbelievably exciting debut from an artist who deserves the biggest stages. The last line of the record sums it up best: “That was fucking sick.”

Despite these definite fun moments, it’s missing the catchy melodies which, alas, are so needed in modern pop music. It’s very listenable, but not necessarily memorable: it may be ‘Earcandy’, but it’s lacking earworms.
