John Dwyer's new band CHIME OBLIVION debuts with an album that sounds like some wacky new-wave proto-punk and garage rock. This project on its own is pretty simple, but that simplicity lends itself well to being a hyper-focused 28 minutes of solid tracks! If you're looking for something brief and trippy, here it is.
I love the sound of this album. It's like if Sleater-Kinney tried to make No Wave early in their career. Every sound throughout this album had me interested to hear where it was going, and it felt like the action and progressions never stopped. Such a fun album.
‘CHIME OBLIVION’ is the first solo record from the prolific frontman of the Osees, and member of a multitude of other projects, John Dwyer.
