Good enough not to be classified as what I call "unattractive R&B," but not good enough to stand out from the musical substance of today's landscape. Coco is unfortunately the product of this annoying modernity in R&B, but I believe she would find her path in tracks that are more soul-driven, perhaps less melodic, more sensual and stripped-down.
Review #562 Ive heard Coco Jones before on a few features so I wanted to check this out & this is pretty good. Coco vocals are really nice plus the beats are catchy & melodic at the same time. There are only 2 features here but they're both pretty good. Here's the track ratings.
1. Keep It Quiet (84) Great intro song. Coco sounds great here & the beats really really nice.
2. Taste (78) Nice one. Coco does pretty good here & I like this beat a lot.
3. On Sight (72) ... read more
really nice vibey album ngl is it the best thing ever made no but it is a very fun listen def worth checking out if you're into some chill contemporary R&B
A very solid debut album that highlights Coco’s unmatched vocal delivery and ability to write a stunning R&B album.
Best Tracks: On Sight (Best Track of 2025), Here We Go (Uh Oh), Taste
I'd heard a lot of hype for Coco, and she is a stunning vocalist, however the songwriting did not pull me in on this one. Good, but not great.
There were a number of samples that took me out of it a bit, I don't know. I feel like if you're trying to establish yourself, maybe try avoiding others coattails? That might be a bit pessimistic of me though.
great vibey album, but it unfortunately gets quite boring and bland towards the end. the songs should be significantly longer too, there's no reason why like 5 songs are only 2 minutes long.
