The feelings this album stirred in meโ€”paranoia, dread, confusionโ€”werenโ€™t pleasant, but they were real. Sometimes you need to feel the bad shit, too.

The Irish trio’s follow-up to their celebrated debut handily avoids the dreaded sophomore slump.

It refuses to let up from its scorching ferocity.

All the squishy stuff has been taken out and replaced with jagged edges and blurred lines, with scary stories told with a devilish grin. Maybe it was understated in the beginning, so let’s try again: M(h)aol are simply the coolest.

There's a punk/garage energy to it I really like. Very noisy.
Reminded me of: English Teacher, Wet Leg, Courtney Barnett, Sleater-Kinney
