After the delayed, underwhelming release of ‘Baggy Weather’ earlier this year, tobi lou is seemingly back on the right track with the succinct ‘Diabolical <3’. I absolutely love the production aesthetics here; its spacey, reverb-heavy beats are high on atmosphere, and the chopped vocals laced into “Talk 2 Me” and “ThreeSixFive” play into this sound well. A second one? Pretty empty stuff, the beats feel generic and tobi just does not flow on this tracks, he gets stuck on the same singing as usual. It's a short album sure but is so lacking of personality that i can't even justify the lenght
