Paledusk do exactly, word-for-word what I thought they would, on their long-awaited debut album: Give us tons of crazy, heavy and incredibly fun metal songs.
And I wouldn't have expected or wanted anything else.
wackiest metalcore album of 2025????
Paledusk’s self titled is… well, you can’t say it’s running out of ideas. from start to finish this record is jam packed with fresh sounds. most of it lands… but when it doesn’t, it misses hard. take DIVE INSIDE FOREVER IN THE DARK, which is this really loud electronic-infested banger of a tune. other notable songs include GOOD DEATH, RUMBLE, and AFTER DUSK - with each track bringing something new to the table. then you ... read more
This was... Surprisingly fun. And also it's absolutely everywhere with its sound in a way that it almost feels like a complete mess. It just got everything to piss some elitists: Standard Metalcore mixed with EDM, with Deathcore, with Kpop, with those post-punk-ish J-Rock, with MCR emo, with dad-rock, it just goes everywhere. If you can swallow the rollercoaster, this will be a fun ride.
While 'HUGs' is easily the best song here (and one of the best anime openings ever), the rest of the songs are all fun and energetic. I really enjoyed this album, even if it does kinda lose momentum towards the end. I wish this album ended with a bang, but it ends with... well... a skip. Track 12 drags this album down.
But the first 11 tracks are amazing and this band rules.
