It’s a more European power metal sound than the turbo-NWOBHM debut, with touches of Testament thrash, but with Midnight Blitz the future of British metal looks safe in Tailgunner’s hands.
Above all, Tailgunner have successfully tapped into the sheer, dizzying joy that heavy metal can bring.
Midnight Blitz is heavy metal in its purest form, a record of full-throttle bangers to get the blood pumping and horns in the air.
Fun metal and potatoes heavy metal madness serving ounces of kickass and catchiness in its wake. (7/10)
Decent heavy (power) metal. Definitely would see this band live but this plays more as a tribute to the genre rather than an expansion of it. I think the major flaw is that the lead singer doesn't have the presence necessary to pull this off... he's fine, but sounds a bit cliché.
