Within the context of the events that have unfolded over the last year, this album is fucking baffling.
For the unaware, this album was predominantly made by producer Inflo, and his wife, vocalist Cleo Sol. Inflo specifically was in the news last year - as he was sued for £1.7m after rapper Little Simz lent him over £1m to put on an event, which he failed to pay back. This series of events led to her recent album "Lotus" (an absolutely fantastic listen).

i stole a million dollars from one of the greatest talents of our generation but still think i have the moral high ground, somehow: the album
i used to f/w SAULT heavy but this is so painfully boring π mark my damn words they are about to pump out 10 more of these all of them increasingly more mid and rushed
i don't know about the drama or controversy surrounding sault or this album so I won't pretend to know about that and I won't include that in my opinion on this music. this isn't good. it's passionless, meaningless and feels so corporate and commercial, there's nothing soulless about this album and it's honestly upsetting because of how good cleo sol is on her own. not a single track from this album stands out to me whatsoever and its all just so boring.
unfortunately really good. weakest parts are the tracks where they essentially just repeat the title (Love Does Not Equal Pain, Don’t Worry About What You Can’t Control). God, Protect me From My Enemies is (ironically) great, as are Good Things Will Come and Lord Have Mercy. Just bringing the best elements of Sault’s sound back in a way I was fully prepared not to transpire
putting inflo's controversy aside for a second, this album is incredibly repetitive and kinda boring
