Considering the legendary status Morrissey was once at, “Notre-Dame” just proves his fall-off to be going downhill even further. It’s not necessarily a bad song, but it’s sure as hell not good.
I think it's clearly stronger than the previous single. Musically it just has more to it and is pretty groovy. Lyrically it's a bit bare but he gets across what he wants to. Also a much better choice for a single, based on sound. Makeup is a head scratcher in that regard
Dr Suess' classic "Green Eggs & Ham" received much acclaim for having less than 50 unique words in the entire book. This blows that out the water with a whopping 25 unique words the entire song!

Alain Whyte's first song with Morrissey in.. 20 years is the best news we've got... unfortunately Morrissey's conspiracy lyrics will probably ruin a decent instrumental
