Really cool metal EP. I appreaciate the length of the release and some of the songs, almost making it feel like an album. I really enjoyed most of these tracks. It would be great to get a full-length from these guys at some point.
Favourites: 'The Jester's Palimpsest' and 'Guardian of the Threshold'
This band self-describes as "post progressive metal," and while that works, I think calling them progressive death metal is more accurate and useful. Then again, what the hell do I know.
What I DO know is that this EP fucking rules. It has an amazing blend of aggressive death metal drums, chugs, and snarls, with that prog complexity that I look for in everything I listen to.
