projected into alternative pop, deb never’s album doesn’t really explore musically, but instead searches for comfortable spaces where the fragility of the lyrics can take refuge. it speaks of loneliness and everyday life, with the cello accompanying the emotional tone. meanwhile, dominic fike was hanging around the studio, clairo’s drummer was involved, and there are backing vocals from boylife: a mix of artistic personalities that makes the project an enjoyable listen.
this album is very pretty, atmospheric, and quaint, and it met my expectations, deb never is one of the most slept on yet consistent alt pop sad girl
