A salute to my childhood and my most-relistened Chinese singer of all time. In 范特西/Fantasy, he revealed his real talent and progressive thoughts on music. This album has a huge influence on the 00s's Chinese Pop music, and it's where Jay Chou started to walk up to the crown of the industry.

best jay chou album imo, it's very diverse with r&b, rap, and more traditional sounds
his singing and rapping are both great and theres a song about ninjas, awesome as fuck
Lots of solid songs here, but like many of Jay Chou's albums, the bombastic songs are weaker and feel like forced additions to add contrast. Nonetheless, 開不了口 is my favorite song of his, with a hopeful progression leading up to a more resigned, but always steady chorus; 安靜 is another classic with beautiful melodies and a really well done simple chromatic modulation that makes the album feel complete. 對不起 gives me Blooket Fishing Frenzy (my least favorite Blooket mode, but ... read more
Jay Chou's sophomore album was released less than one year after his debut album's release. I'm personally a big fan of his self-titled debut album, Jay, which showcases how ingenious and creative a Chinese singer-songwriter could be at the beginning of the century. Nevertheless, Jay took a huge and further step on this album, Fantasy, with a near-perfect, no-skip tracklist. 忍者 is actually really good, but the rest is meh. 双截棍 is the worst nu-metal stuff I've heard in a while.
