maybe i've just grown up.
a confession cannot be written over. this feels shallow and it has lost the rawness of the original recording. they completely butchered some of these songs, most notably The Ballad of The Costa Concordia, now titled The Ravenous House. i mean this is just corny. you're 33 dude. it's not even that i don't relate to the lyrics anymore or that i can't emotionally connect to the songs of CSH in general. i still can look very fondly on the original ... read more
beautiful lush english folk with the same progressive rock tendencies as black midi. cam's vocal style was sometimes out of place in black midi, but this is such a perfect genre for him. lovely instrumentation, but the only thing i can't really get behind is the album occasionally leaned into quirky musical-theatre-isms which i am not a big fan of.
