By Storm take the scorched-earth experimentation of By The Time I Get To Phoenix and turn it inward on My Ghosts Go Ghost, shaping grief, intimacy and abstract psychedelia into their most human record yet.
Where By The Time I Get to Phoenix presented a bright red canvas, My Ghosts Go Ghost retains the in-between, empty bits of canvas, burn-holes maybe even. Its stark contrasts and melancholy work better on each spin, revealing artists who are wrestling with existential situations. There is no solution after the apocalypse, just questions. After the collapse, after the funeral, after the album of their life – what’s left?
What gives it staying power is its emotional clarity; its deep wells of feeling that slice apart the digi-chaos like beams of light through a swollen sky.

Experimental Hip-Hop has really seen its peak in the 2010s and 2020s, and one of the artists that made that happen was Injury Reserve. The trio of Groggs, Ritchie and Parker Corey put together great albums like their self titled “Injury Reserve” album, and it looked like nothing would stop them… Until tragically Groggs passed away in 2020, leaving the group as a duo. This led to the creation of the final Injury Reserve album, and arguably their greatest work yet, By The Time ... read more
