There's a reason why even Whitehouse fans don't like Halogen. When it comes to fans of noise and power electronics, there's a clear divide between those who adore Whitehouse and those who dislike them because they're extremely boring. This is their first album since their two 1982 releases that I can confidently say fits that description extremely well.

Whitehouse being my favorite band, I feel like I've awarded them with a ridiculous charity that I've given to no other artist. I thought Right to Kill was a good album, I gave Psychopathia Sexualis a mediocre score rather than a negative score and I gave Total Sex a near 8/10.

Halogen is widely panned as Whitehouse's worst modern album, but is it really that bad? Upon listening to it, I have come to the conclusion that no, its pretty decent. This album is definitely and obviously less eventful and more quiet than the average Whitehouse release. You're not gonna be put in any disgusting songs or be thrown into terrifying audio soundscapes, but the album succeeds at an important thing-- being a power electronics album.
