I love Polyphia but not this type of prog rock, it's just so generic and boring. Through all the basic overdriven guitar tones, I will say there are some nice melodies in the songs. Polyphia's improvement between the year of Inspire and Muse is very impressive.
At this point in Polyphia’s trajectory, they still haven’t figured out what they want their sound to be, although they’re a little closer to figuring it out here than in their abysmal 2011 EP Resurrect. This one is much more listenable as a musical project, but it’s still not much more than serviceable Djent that does nothing to stand out from the thousands of other identical projects that existed in the early 2010s.
