Sometimes nothing makes an artistic effort stand out more than being defiantly out of sync with the times.
Mans just knows how to prog that trance. Melodies on point, lots of acid fuckery, bouncy basses, blissful pads and sound-wise holds up beautifully for a 90s release. Oh and did I mention this is his debut? OH and did I mention Sasha comes in outta nowhere for a 40 min dj mix on track 12 and then the album continues like nothing happened??? (not shitting on it. I mean how could u? It's a Sasha mix).
Man I missed listening to trance. The genre that got me into electronic music in the first place continues to impress me as I dig more into the past. This album will have you fall into a vibe with some fantastic atmosphere and melodies. That DJ mix near the end in particular is fantastic, perfectly encapsulates what makes this genre so fantastic, with entrancing bassline and synth grooves to pull you along from track to without ever really letting up.
A few releases recently have opened my eyes up to the world of trance and acid techno/house. Miracle In Transit by Naked Flames and SLAM ZONE by Ceephax Acid Crew, which take the hypnotic repetition I love in things like post-rock or ambient and format it perfectly into their respective EDM styles. This is no different, except this manages to fit even more dynamics and creativity into *only* 76 minutes. These squelches are so good, this would have worked just as well if it was 3 hours :3
