2017 was a rather empty year of slushwave. If you look on RYM’s chart of top slushwave releases that year (in every format, genre and influence), there are 20 releases in that chart. A lengthy vaporwave and ambient leaning album that feels as though you're submerged in a hazy and fuzzy ocean. It's warming and pretty delightful to listen to.
This is one long, entrancing and atmospheric record. One that sorta works in three parts. The first two consist of the first two tracks that are each around 50 minutes in length. Both the title track and "The Backdoor" are these lush, aquatic ambient pieces that move at a glacial pace. Designed so the listener really immerses themselves within the track.
